Tianjin Haileybury International School has always paid attention to the teaching and learning of English in the school. We also continually look to further develop and improve in this area. In the CCTV Star of Outlook Tianjin Conference Finals which were held on the 12th of May, we are proud to announce that Jinny Guo (Grade 4) and Hulk Zhang (Grade 3) greatly impressed on the day and have been awarded special level prizes. These two students arealso eligible to enter the National CCTV Finals. Our other participants were also awarded Tianjin first place prizes. They include Penelope Weng (Grade 5), Zac Qu (Grade 2), Jennifer Sun (Grade 2), Donna Li (Grade 2) and Benny Liu (Grade2).
天津黑利伯瑞国际学校一直以来注重学生英语学习水平的提高与综合素质的发展。在本次中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛天津赛区总决赛中，来黑利伯瑞国际学校3年级的张梵智皓和来自4年级的郭津彤两位同学包揽了天津赛区总决赛1-3年级小低组和4-6年级小高组两个组别的特等奖第一名。除此之外，我校参赛的翁紫暄，屈梓焱，孙沚菲，李若同，刘倍宁同学获得天津赛区一等奖的好成绩。

The students' outstanding achievements are inseparable from the careful cultivation and hard work of our teachers as well as the positive learning atmosphere of the school. We adhere to the principle that ‘Every student matters every day’ and under the model of "1+X", the school values extra-curricular activities such as English clubs, English sports and English competitions on top of our regular English program. Students who stand out are rarely alone in their achievements.This positive and rewarding experience for him is the result of his own dedication and persistence, his parent’s encouragement and support along with the hard work and support of the Middle School teachers and administration.Preparations for the competition started in after-school activities inmid-March.

Oral presentations and reading are a major component in theJunior School English as a Second Language Programme where students work withinternational and bilingual teachers for more than 1/3 of their classes as wellas participate in after-school activities at least once a week. For assemblies, students are given many opportunities to exhibit their talents where speakingis a major component.
口语表达和阅读是初中英语教学的一个重要组成部分，学生每周很多机会和外教老师或双语教师在每天课外活动课后练习英文口语和阅读。特别是在黑利伯瑞初中部的集会活动中，学生有很多机会展示他们的天赋，英文演讲是集会最重要的的组成部分。
The first round of the CCTV competition took place in March and throughthe combined hard work of students and teachers which included countless hoursof preparation and mock speech activities, we have created an excellent recipefor success.
从三月份的中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛的初赛起，外教老师们就为孩子们进行了无数次辅导和模拟问答，通过学生和教师们的共同努力，终于取得了今天的优异成绩。接下来，我们会为全国比赛做最充分的准备。
