记威力塔斯北京校区2016年班主任沙龙

  班主任工作是影响人、培养人、塑造人的伟大工作,美国威力塔斯学校有幸邀请到了北京教育学院附中原校长、西城区优秀班主任张延华老师,为威校所有班主任带来一场《情感、科学、艺术》主题沙龙讲座。张校长从班主任工作的重要性、工作核心方法及要素等方面深入浅出地给我们从思想深处启发,指导,解释答疑。

  Veritas was honored to welcome the distinguished Principle Yanhuang Zhang who conducted an internal assessment on the condition of the school before she lead a discussion on class management.

  张老师首先肯定了我们学校教学体系的完整性和作为美国学校本身对接国际留学的优越性。同时也提出了提高教师队伍专业性,尤其是班主任团队建设的重要性。优秀班主任是情感、科学、艺术的结合。一定是教育教学双肩挑,班主任水平体现一个学校的教学管理整体水平。班主任老师不仅培养学生的学习和生活习惯,还要引导孩子确立良好的人格和性格,树立未来理想和目标方向。

  After careful review, Principle Zhang determined that Veritas’s school environment was quite conducive to student learning and language acquisition. In addition, Principle Zhang stated that the environment was warm and inviting and that the teacher’s displayed a high level of professionalism.

  讲座中重点提到做好班主任工作三要素:爱、尊重、责任。班主任工作要做到用心、用情、用力。要有正确的教育理念,有教育方法途径,还要有奉献精神。教育需要铺垫、设计,自然会有良好的教育效果。同时要注意教育的长期性和反复性。要不断鼓励学生把改变习惯转化为养成习惯的过程。

  During the discussion, Mrs. Zhang shared with us the three aspects of the “art of being a successful teacher” which consisted of: love, respect and responsibility. Though these are not new terms nor ideas shared among educational institutions, she however brought to light the intricacies of establishing such guidelines in assisting students both academically and behaviorally. For example, her first point was dedicated to teaching students to understand right from wrong in a critical thinking format. Right from wrong is easy to teach, but how to teach right from wrong in a critical thinking sense that involves sound reasoning.

  短短的两个小时,张老师理论联系实际,声情并茂的把自己多年从教的经验,知无不言 、言无不尽的传授给我们班主任。值得庆幸的是我们的班主任团队虽然年轻,但是除了具备专业知识能力,还都有一颗真正爱孩子的心,有对教育事业的满腔热忱。最后张老师现场又耐心解答了所有老师提出的问题,在张老师的指导下,今后会更艺术化的处理教育和班主任工作中遇到的难题。

  After this portion of the discussion, Principle Zhang turned to a more serious note and concentrated on speaking about interpersonal skills and life management skills in the forms of helping students to establish moralistic and well-rounded study habits, how to set goals, but more importantly, when to set them, and how to achieve those goals through peer group management and personal will-power.

  Principle Zhang integrated her teaching theory with us through a series of personal experiences and life stories. She also shared with the audience her years of teaching experience in great detail. Many of her points were different from what we took for granted before, but they truly pointed out the key points in education and rectified the hidden errors in our daily work. In a word, we should love the kids and handle all types of issues encountered in the education and class administration practice in a proper and artistic fashion. Teaching and class administering are noble and glorious jobs that are dedicated to influencing and shaping the students.
